The team has been excluded from international competitions since Russia launched a 'special military operation' in Ukraine in February 2022, which sparked a strong reaction from UEFA and other soccer federations. UEFA announced on Tuesday that it had withdrawn its proposal to allow Russian junior teams to participate in its tournaments, after failing to find a technical solution to enable them to play.
